āœ–ļøI’m bad at yoga⁣
āœ–ļøI’m not flexible⁣
āœ–ļøI can’t sit still⁣
āœ–ļøI don’t like meditation⁣
āœ–ļøI can’t focus⁣
āœ–ļøI don’t have time to add another thing onto my plate⁣
⁣
Do you know what all of those statements have in common? (other than the fact that they all came out of my mouth)⁣
⁣
They’re all lies. I’ve been lying to myself.⁣
⁣
Why? FEAR.⁣
⁣
Scared of trying something and failing, of experimenting with something new and not liking it, then becoming a quitter in spite of that.⁣
⁣
I’ve been spewing all of these self limiting beliefs into my mind that over the years I’ve seriously believed them as fact. Y’all our minds are powerful things. ⁣🧠
⁣
Self limiting beliefs are like saying you don’t like tomatoes even though you’ve never had them. šŸ… You believe you wouldn’t like them based on what other people say, how they look, the texture, blah blah blah. ⁣
⁣
You let yourself BELIEVE in something that’s a complete LIE because experimenting would mean you could potentially be uncomfortable for just a second while you find out what is TRUE. ⁣
⁣
That split second of discomfort is what’s holding you back from discovering your new favorite food, your new favorite hobby or your new favorite outfit....the POSSIBILITY of discomfort….⁣
⁣
THINK ABOUT HOW STUPID THAT IS. And that’s EXACTLY what I’ve been doing! ⁣🤯
⁣
After trying out yoga, here’s the tea:⁣
āœ–ļøI’m not bad at yoga, I’m a beginner.⁣
āœ–ļøI’m not as flexible as I want to be, but I’ll work on that.⁣
āœ–ļøI can sit still, I just don’t do it enough.⁣
āœ–ļøI do like meditation, I’m just learning how to harness it.⁣
āœ–ļøI can focus, it just doesn’t come naturally to me.⁣
āœ–ļøI make time for what’s important for me.⁣
