me: *is constantly treating myself*
me: you know what? I’m going to treat myself today.
The “treat yourself” mentality totally took over a couple years ago and I completely used it as an excuse to overeat, overindulge and treat my body like a trash can. (Harsh but true)
I was “treating” myself to a venti iced coffee, Oreos, fries, Dr Pepper, donuts, flaming hot Cheetos—you name it.
A “treat” by definition is: “an event or item out of the ordinary...”
This wasn’t something I was doing “out of the ordinary” this was just about every day. 🤯 Almost every time I left my house actually. I wasn’t treating myself anymore, I was creating and enforcing terrible habits.
I completely had no self control and my body and my bank account were feeling the effects.
I am all in favor for a little TLC on your schedule and it’s totally necessary to make sure you’re taking care of your own needs, especially when your responsibilities seem like take over your over your life.
So here are some of my favorite ways to “treat yo’self” WITHOUT food:
🌸 nice long shower/bath
🌸 going to get your nails done
🌸 take a walk outside + clear your head
🌸 watch your favorite movie/go to the movies
🌸 take the day off of work
🌸 schedule nap time during your day
🌸 window shop
🌸 go on a drive/to the pool/bookstore- just get OUT of your house
I challenge you all to treat yourself with something OTHER than junk food this week!💗
